Been looking on expansys & komplett for a windows 5 mobile smartphone with wifi/decent keyboard/bluetooth/camera that can be used on the meteor network with my current PAYG sim. If I can use this sim can i check hotmail/use internet browser etc? Have been thinking of moving over to 3 but, I have a lot of credit still in my meteor account so not really worth it as I will have to purchase a 3rd party phone anyway.

These are what i have thought about.

    Any suggestions comments appreciated

If you are interested in using a smartphone/PDA device O2 have the best range.

XDA mini / Exec / Orbit etc

The Orbit has GPS capabilities. They all have a Windows Mobile 5 OS
    All have cameras.

Or, you can do what I did and use the O2 XDA on Meteor :)

Remember that Meteor is still way behind in terms of data usage, they use 2.75G or EDGE and they charge through the nose for it (as do all 2.5G operators, in fairness). I can't find any info on what data options those phones have. I assume they will 2.5G anyway.

So, to answer your question, yes, you will be able to check your e-mail.

ill take a look at o2 range. does that mean though i have to subscribe to them?

No, if you buy it from the likes of Expansys, you won't have to subscribe to O2.

You will of course have to pay the full whack for the phone, though. Mine was €700

There's data packages now for bill pay.

If I recall correctly, it's like 15euro for 10megs, 20 for 15megs, and 25 for 20. Unlimited is 30 a month (fair usage is 30gigs) but only available on business plans and Talk 400+.
