My solicitor seems to be ****ing me about over a sale of a house and I am down a considerable amount of money.

I've arranged a meeting this week to sort it out.

I'd like to get some independent advice be it from a statutory body or another solicitor.

Will a solicitor take a call about their colleagues? Can any one advice

Is there regulating body for solicitors I can speak to?

Is there a mitigation service for something like this?

You can contact the law society but it is unlikely they will assist much and they certainly won't offer you legal advice.

Ask the law society for their "negligence panel list" and it will give you the names of solicitors you can talk to about the matter. You may have to travel a fair bit away to get one to deal with it as they are not allowed to take on a case about a local colleague.

dont mind another solicitor they will ride u again with bills and keep u in the dark. the law society are the same they will not do anything a waste of time. your best bet is to go to the citizens advice and take it from there. why dont u take him on yourself??? have u been on to www.rateyoursolicitor.com? john gill is the man!!!

Simple: tell your current solicitor you are unhappy with his/her services, instruct another solicitor local or not, send a letter to your current solicitor advising him to transfer your file to the new one. New solicitor should draft a change of solicitor declaration [if required] and report your current solicitor to the Law Society. www.lawsociety.ie for more advice on complaints.

    No legal advice.

Thread locked. Sorry Kearnsr, but some people don't seem to understand the rules and you have to lose out because of it.
