Anybody remember collecting tokens for the Matchbox models and model village or the cereal bowls with corn flakes?

Were they the little old-style (30's/40's/50's) delivery vans/trucks?
I remember my cardboard village had a nasty fire... the whole town burned to the ground :D

I got three of those cardboard villages and made my own little cardboard megalopolis.

I also found a black and orange tony the tiger-mobile in the garage the other day, I'd say the thing is about 25 years old.

We still have those trucks on top of the windows. The lil green one with the flour bags. Awh. We got cool ceramic bowls too. We had Tony the Tiger, Snap, Crackle & Pop and Corn flakes. My Gran had Fruit & Fibre. Booooring! :D

Remember the lil clip on things for your bike spokes? And those luminous stickers with the cool writing n slogans to stick on the bike too? They were so street it hurts!

I remeber wearing one of the relflective Corn Flake symbols as a medalion for a while ! It was meant for the spokes of a bike but I thought it was funnier as a medalion about 5 years after they were given away.

I still have a model village in the envelope it come in. Thought it was from Weetabix though. Memory is not what it used to be.

I remember waitin months(felt like forever) for a Frosties water hoop game thingy, where yid press a button to send the little hoops flyin to see how many you could get in the net!! We were hardly ever allowed Frosties (aaaaw them were the days) so took feckin ages to save all the tokens and we were last "on the road" to get a computer or gameboy so this was a massive deal!! Just goes to show ya how spoilt kids are these days...not rantin..but just rememberin now how much i appreciated stuff like that cos everyone was in the same boat!! Havin a sleep over in your mates house who had cocopops and not dunnes own brand cornflakes was the thrill of the week. Hope im not alone here..or there'll be words with the parents haha!!!!

I had a model-T delivery truck and a cereal bowl (white with the chicken on it) also had the cornflakes and frosties reflectors for the bike. Collected records that were on frosties boxes and collected tokens for the weetabix atlas and dictionary.

Collected records that were on frosties boxes.

Ha! Remember them - "3- thats the magic number!" They were made from thin flexi plastic.
Also saved up tokens for Rice Krispie records - I still have them -
Bucks Fizz - Cant stand the heat,
Paul Young - Love of the common people
    Bananarama - Robert deNiro's Waiting
    Wham - Club Tropicana
    ?? - Give it Up

We used to eat loads of Krispies - remember getting joke books for Snap, Crackle, & Pop and boxes of stickers.
We used to save up loads of tokens and wait til we had enough for lots of things and then send them away all at once, even if the date was up!! And waitin 28 days was a lifetime!
