Youngster's Happy Meal Gift Horror

Burger chain McDonald's has apologised after a condom was found in a Happy Meal gift pack bought for a seven-year-old girl.

It happened at a branch of the restaurant chain in Wellington, New Zealand, where the youngster had been taken as a treat by her grandparents.

The green condom was discovered by Maia Whitaker's grandmother when she looked inside a small sports bag that came with the meal.

Her grandfather, Rowan Hutch, told a local newspaper: "I was pretty horrified really.


"The fact my granddaughter was going to look in the bag and find this thing. It would be difficult to explain."

After he and his wife complained, the outlet swapped the Happy Meal for a hamburger and pencil case.

A McDonald's spokeswoman said the previous gift had sold out.

In order to not disappoint younger diners it was replaced by prepackaged sports bags.

One was left unsealed for display purposes and had "somehow" been given to the Hutch family.

However, the spokeswoman was unable to explain how the condom got into the bag.

McDonald's have obviously noticed all the young people having sex in their place and took a responsible approach . How thoughtful of them .

For health and safety, most kitchens issue blue plasters to cover cuts so that if they fall into the food while the person is working on them they can be easily spotted.

I wonder is it the same with the condoms, where the company issues green ones that are visible so that if one of their employees is...I'll stop there.

Giving condominiums out with happy meals is a very proactive approach to helping combating Teen pregnancies. Should be done here.

They could do a promotion, and on the side of the happy meal box have a 'find the Clitoris' puzzle.
