How long to get a replacement vehicle registration document?

someone is about to become (the lucky imo) owner of my 323ci. going thro all my documentation etc i realised i dont have the VRD doh!

i think what happened was that i moved out of my apartment a few weeks after buying the car but the document must have been sent to my old address and i never got it.

Therefore i need a new one, i have the form here, ill get it signed by a guard and then i need to send it and 12 to shannon. anyone any idea how long itll take?

I think it will take 2 weeks as i just bought a car and got the cert after 2 weeks.Thats really slow service

I posted off the form for a lost document on a firday and i got the book in the post the following friday,that was in february

I got mine in 5 days. I rang them after I posted it and tols them I needed it for a DOE test, they had just received it that day and posted it out the next.

The woman I spoke to in Shannon was very helpful, I was surprised myself how quick it was but I had the van booked in for the test so I needed it asap.

I think its the shannon office, thats where i sent mine.It should be written on the form

I brought mine to my local motor tax office, handed the form to them and paid the fee there. They sent off the form and i had my new VLC within 5 days.

Do you guys know if this is happening faster now or it takes up to two weeks when changing the car certificate?

Allow for 2 weeks. But they usually get them out within a week to 10 days.

Once sent in have a look on motortax.ie in the vehicle transaction enquiry section to see how it's progressing.
