Working abroad as as a solicitor?

I'm curious if anyone can point towards the best way for an Irish qualified solicitor to work abroad in either England or Australia, preferably as soon as possible after qualifying, just feel it would be great to work outside of Ireland for a few years, from a personal point of view but not sure how it would impact professionally. What are the benefits, what are the downsides? I've good enough qualifications, a first class degree in Corporate Law and a 2.1 LLB.

I'm nearly sure that once qualified as a solicitor in the Republic anybody can practise in England & Wales and also in the North(not Scotland though as far as I'm aware).Been trying to investigate the Australia idea also but so far all I've discovered is that each of the Australian states have seperate systems. For New South Wales though(for someone looking to work in Sydney say)Irish qualified solicitors have to do an Australian Constitutional Law exam at the very least.I'd be interested to see if anyone knew anything further about it all in Australia though?
