Tobey Maguire is a great actor.. not exactly a stretch of his skills in the Spiderman movies. But had fantastic performances in films like 'The Ice Storm' and 'Wonder Boys'.

I would like to watch the horror channel, but my God, they put on some crappy films - ie, Leprechaun..... A classic maybe, but absolute sh!te..... Now, Nightmare on elm street or the exorcist are a better classic horror!:D

Are you in the movie business, or how have you met people who know him?

He was on Jonathan Ross the other night and just came across as 'nice' but amazingly dull.

He was quiet during the interview. Could be that hes just tired and / or fed up promoting the movie. The interview was ridiculous anyway- Ross spent half of it asking and talking about mechanical horses and focused on all the innuendo that comes with that. Asking Tobey when was the last time he m@sturbated was totally out of line and stupid, imo.

I quite liked Wonderboys actually, he was good in that. He's not bad in the spiderman role either.

Ah Jonathan Ross is an entertainment show, it just uses guests as a vehicle to get gags - and I like it for it. I didn't see that show but nice but dull seems to be the conclusion about Toby...

thought tobey's best performance was in Ride with the Devil - a fairly underrated film. Ang lee directed it too.
while i think he's a good actor in alot of his roles he seems to be the same person...

I liked him in Wonder Boys and the Ice Storm. I wouldn't mind seeing him in that film with DiCaprio - 'Cherry Diner' I think it was called, but they stopped it getting released.

Apparently it was a largely improvised movie that they both were happy with but Maguire's agent felt it would hurt his image and so DiCaprio used his clout to discourage festivals from accepting it and they got a court order preventing its release, saying that they'd only signed up for a short. Must read up on it again.

    [edit]It's called Don's Plum - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119004/[/edit]

    Anyone seen it?

God, it's been so long since I've seen it, I forgot he was in it. That was good actually, another point to Tobey from me.
