Hello people. Lately I've been wanting to buy a keyboard so I can put it through the oul' PODxt for some cool psychedelic keyboard, but I'm not sure what type to get. My price range is 100-200, maybe more. I'm looking for a keyboard that doesn't sound entirely ****e in its own, although, I know if I want a good sounding one I'll be paying 1000+ . I'm looking for a keyboard that can emulate a reed/rock organ really nicely.

    Any ideas?

You'll get fúck all of a keyboard for €200 unless you plan on a second hand one. Raise your spend to €500 and you'll have some serious choice. Do a search on Thomann and you should have a lot to think about.

Roland have some cool organ sounds - from rock to spin to distortion, but you'll have to spend a few quid.

You don't have to spend a fortune. Any reasonable keyboard will have a decent GM (General Midi) soundset, which will have your rock organ and whatnot. Maybe have a look at the Roland EM-10 or, better yet, walk into Waltons and look at the cheaper Yamahas and Casios. You'll have loads of fun running them through FX :D

i'm surprised nobody has said it but chrisguitars.com ftw!

you'll get more for your money buying used, chris has lots of cool keyboards for very little money. :)

No he doesn't. He is primarily a used guitar specialist, so his prices are a tad steep - even given the exchange rate - plus the shipping rates would be nothing short of disgusting. If you're looking for some good secondhand gear, the UK listings on soundonsound or the For Sale forum on vintagesynthexplorer. Alternatively, I've a couple of synths and a sampler for sale on adverts, and there are at least 6 other similar listings.
