Multi Region DVDs ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!

    What really ticks me off about this region crap is that laptops can play dvds from any region but they make you chose one and stick with it. Is it just a money spin or is there a technical reason????

    If anyone out there has any way of getting by this pick a region thing PLEASE TELL ME!!!

    Well the reason that there is regions is purely because of the movie studios avoiding people being able to purchase a film in the states on dvd that has not yet been released in the cinemas here (or elsewhere...)

    Whereas with older games especially the difference from PAL and NTSC was physical with machines here not been able to work the american stuff, physically there is no difference between region 2 and 1 dvds, just a small piece of software..

    So it kinda is a money thing...
