    I am going through a very deep depression, my husband is in Afghanistan and I am feeling very weak in my walk with Jesus. I am feeling so overwhelmed with all that I have to do. I just moved to a new city and have no friends or have not found a church that I feel comfortable in. Please pray for my situation.

    Will do, Dear Sister. If you feel able, let me know what city you are near and I'll try to source some suitable churches for you. PM me if you like. Grace, mercy and peace to you.

    The Bible specifically teaches that we are either here alive in our body or in the presence of the Lord;

    (2Co 5:8) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

    (2Co 5:9) Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

    So I guess it is either here or in Heaven, but nevertheless it is in the presence of the Lord (Jesus) so it really doesn't matter. Enlighten yourself by listening to Don Collette is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God www.sermonsnacks.com and let God speak to you through His word.

    Thanks

    Not sure who Don Collette is, but the enlightenment should be coming from the Bible.

    Dear Pedro, I pray the Lord with lighten you burden and lift your depression. Take one day and one task at a time.
    Matthew11:28 Come to me, all you that labour, and are burdened, and I will refresh you. 29 Take up my yoke upon you, and learn of me, because I am meek, and humble of heart: and you shall find rest to your souls. 30 For my yoke is sweet and my burden light.
    Matthew 6:34 Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.

    God bless you.
    Noel.

    I'm sorry, but how is this helpful in any way?

    pedro01, things may look black now, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Work hard in your search for a church, and use the loneliness to cling close to your Father who loves you. There are lots of beautiful things in this world to enjoy so try to make the most of them - books and music and sunshine and good food. Write your husband love letters and poetry! You will be alright! We will keep an eye out for you on this board and remember you in our prayers.

    It's not exactly a prayer but a hymn but the words are comforting and reassuring to read each day. Maby it would be of use to you, it gives me strength when i feel at my lowest:

    Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
    Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
    Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
    Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

    Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
    I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
    Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
    Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

    Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
    Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
    Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
    Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

    Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
    Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
    Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
    High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

    High King of Heaven, my victory won,
    May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
    Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
    Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

    I wish you all the best and every good wish :)
