Cinema HD?

    Just wondering if any cinemas show films in HD or do they already and if not will this be the the next step for cinemas upgrading there systems to HD?

    Cinemas are projecting film not playing dvds!

    some studios are pushing for a digital format as its cheaper and easier to distribute but im sure it will prob be a few years before that happens

    They have projected in HD for years.
    Basicly HD is just a higher resilution image then normaly seen at home.

    If they didn't use higher resolution images then regular DVD the image would look awful on such a big screen.

    However I think there might be plans to increase the resolution even more for cinema projectors to compete with the home market. Sony have plans for one that can do 4096 x 2160.
