Considering it was the highest grossing festival in europe last year I would think so!

*Looks at Download thread* nope, unlikely. They probably would have announced something by now if there was.

Its been posted by the Moserators on the UK Download forum that there'll be no Download in either Ireland or Scotland this year I'm afraid.

Well the man himself Justin Timberlake is playing there on the 30th, but the last time I went by the places, there were diggers in the main pitch place. Dont know when the works will be done for though.

Ah the thread title got me excited. Damn You!!

I could always see it not happening once i heard the headliners. Last year was an ideal year for it over here. Maybe next year we'll be as lucky.

My Chemical Romance and Linkin Park wouldn't be able to match up to big names like Guns N' Roses and Metallica, while Iron Maiden only played the RDS a year or two ago and probably couldn't be arsed doing it again. Must be down to not having suitable headliners.

mcr could headline (they would sell enough tickets as their fans parents would have to go as well!), but who would want to go to a festival that is full of kids? Linkin park are way over rated. it would be cool if it was maby one day in some other venue in dub with the best bands playing in the uk like maiden, slayer, megadeth, velvet revolver, mastadon. one can only dream!!

well they are headling the UK one

I'd consider us different to the UK, but that's just me.

A one-day metal/heavy rock fest with a decent headliner and some decent second-tier acts would be nice to see. At Malahide Castle or something.

Unfortunetly, the country seems to be bent on "boutique" and Glastonbury-like festivals... certainly not knocking Electric Picnic but that market is quite saturated now.
