    Hey folks,

Trying to decide where we wanna go for our honeymoon. Were off in september and want something great. we have 2 weeks.

Personally i would like something adventurous like a safari and my partner wants to go for relaxation - amazing beach.

So we were thinking of a 2 place holiday - split up the time between the 2 places.

We dont really have a SET budget but hoping do do it for less than 2000pp

Any help? or has anyone done anything similar? how was it and would you reccomend it?

warrenaldo; Mauritius and South Africa seems a very popular choice for exactly what you are looking for. www.twohigs.com may give you some pointers, but they may not be that cheap. September is probably spring time in S.A.?

A week's safari through Tanzania and then a week on the lovely relaxing island of Zanzibar off the coast?

You can go to Kenya for two weeks - do a safari for one week (or less) and then go onto the coast which has the Indian Ocean - paradise!

Classic Resorts & Tropical Places both do Kenya I think!

Yeah the Africa safari/relaxation is def the way to go. Did this last year, safari in Tanzania and then to Zanzibar for some R&R. The safari trips done from the Kenya side generally are dearer than Tanzania even though both cover different ends of the Masai Mara.
    Highly recommended :D

Tanzani and Zanzibar - sounds good. thats 2nd person in this thread to mentiona it and i just went mmmmmmmmmm
who did you go with - at the moment im looking classic resorts and sunway.
have done the canada thing before - sheer class. think the safari and R&R will do the job for the honeymoon. we will be going in september

What sort of price was it? our budget is about 3k each.

Went to South Africa for ours and would recommend. We spent 2 weeks travelling along the coast (beaches and restaurants) and a week or so on safari for about 7 grand all in (including spending). PM me if you want the safari crowd we went with. We had our own personal guide! for 4 days. Also it was much cheaper than booking through a travel agent. Only downside to September is that it is off season.

just to clarify - got the Kenya/Tanzania prices the wrong way round - Kenya was the cheaper one! We went in 2nd half of June into July for 3 weeks. We booked via Trailfinders. That kinda budget should cover you alright. I'm sure I can dig out more of the exact details if you need.
The jist of it: Nairobi Hotel for a few days to catch our breath, then on to Kenya safari 6 days, then to Zanzibar for a few days, then to completely screw the budget a beach club/spa resort for 7 days.

    Money well spent!!!

Not recommending where to go but who to go with, go into Trailfinders and spend a while in there talking about what sort of things you want to do and where to go. Some people think they're just for backpackers but do they some really good packages, I've used them twice in the last 3 years and have always stayed in some great accomodation for great prices, couldn't recommend them more.

edit- Just noticed Coley also went with Trailfinders.
