    Hi there,

I recently bought this MP3 player off ebay, it arrived, it turns on etc, seemingly functions well.

Currently the computer doesnt recognise it "unknown device"
I've tried download the driver, software and firmware but my computer doesnt seem to be recognising it still.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help out with this, or if anyone has the installation disc for it and could possibly lend it, as im currently a tad baffled.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mark

I took a quick look at the firmware update manual on Samsungs site for the player and a later firmware adds MTP mode support which is a means for transferring content with MTP compatible software like Windows Media Player.

Do you have WMP 10 or WMP 11 installed if not try WMP11.

Or go into the menu and enable UMS mode instead.

yea i have the most up to date version of windows media player.

A part of me thinks its a problem with the usb cable, when i plug it into the wall charger its grand, comes up charging, when i have it in the usb, it says "usb connecting" but never actually connects. also i noticed the one for the wall seems to sit in comfortably, where as the usb one sits out about a mm or 2, so im looking into getting another usb cable, if that doesnt work well i think im fresh out of ideas

you have tried uninstalling then re installing the drivers on your PC yes?

I honestly do not much about the YH-J70, but I am going to refer you to dapreview.net, they have a yhj70 thread there which may be able to help you.
