Are there other sects then catholism that practice this sacrament and if so how and what are the differences ?

There is a prayer of confession that is involved in Anglican services.
Taking this from a service sheet from my local church.
    Confession wrote:
Almighty God, we have sinned in thought and word and deed,
and in what we have left undone.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us,
that we may walk in the newness of life to the glory of your name. Amen
It is the belief in our church and I think in most other Christian denominations apart from the Eastern Orthodox ones (which are very similar to Catholicism), that one can and that one should confess ones sin to God in prayer, it doesn't matter whether it is in a church, or in your own privacy.

There are several churches within the Evangelical Movement in North America that practice public confessions, some of which are televised. This is obviously different from that of the Catholic (secret) confessional.

I have had (and I suppose still do have) an accountability partner. Someone I can talk to as a friend when I'm finding it hard to stay away from activities that I don't want in my life anymore, because I regard them as sinful, but have a hard time letting go of.
