I've always been a fit person, worked out regularly every week and was a slim size 10. Unfortunately due to a medical condition I had to stop all training and was barely able to move, all in all I put on 3 stone.
So I got the all clear from my doctor to start going to the gym properly again, now I have an event in 5 weeks on Sat and was hoping to lose the guts of a stone, I know that might not sound too healthy, but going by how I used to be I think I should be fine by just cutting out the crap and actually getting back in the gym.
    Diet is:
Breakfast: 2 diet yogurts, 2 apples, pomegrante juice, tea(super milk only)
Lunch: Sandwich (wholemeal) Chicken, tomato, lettuce onion.
Dinner: Some sorta meat/fish brocolli, french beans, carrots/parsnips.
Kiaora(no added sugar) and water drunk throughout the day.

    Workouts:
    Monday 45 mins Step Aerobics
    20 mins eplicital trainer
    15 mins abs class

Tuesday 30 min Tae Bo class
    15 min abs class
20 mins fast walking on treadmill

    Wednesday 45 mins Aerobics
    15 mins abs class
    15 mins rower

    Thursday 30 mins spin class
    15 mins abs class

Friday 45 mins Tae bo class
    15 mins abs class

Gym wise I know it looks a lot, but thats what I'm aiming for and I'll do as much as I can, before i was sick I was doing 7 days a week.
Just wondering how much weight training should I throw in, I have a whole program already done up in the gym that I can restart.
So basically i'm looking for any advice for tweaking the diet and the workout to get fit again with the aim of getting nearly a stone off in 5 weeks, otherwise I'm looking at getting rid of the weight by the end of the year....:D
    Cheers lads and ladies.:D

A good guideline for healthy weight loss is a steady 1 to 2 lbs a week, depending on effort. You could also expect to lose an extra 1 to 2 lbs in that first week due to loss of bloat, glycogen stores and other such things.

So you have 5 weeks, potentially you can lose 2 to 4 in the first week, and 1 to 2 lbs each week thereafter…..so thats anywhere from 6 to 12lbs in a five week period….or the guts of a stone as they say.

Diet wise I would say bring in a slow burning carb in the morning, oats for preference….it will give you a steadier energy than fruit etc….and you can always mix in the yoghurt and fruit which I assure you tastes yummy!

Eat a nice bit of protein, as it keeps you feeling fuller for longer also.

Exercise wise I say do what you enjoy, and do it hard!

As you said you were in shape before, so reverting back to the your old habits will work far better for you than any advice I can give without knowing you.

I was having plain Oatso in the morning (the sachet pack) but I found I was getting very hungry about 11ish and tending to eat crap then.
Although whats the ruling on eggs these days I know 1 a day is ok but is 2 a day bad for you at all?
    Oh and Cheers...:)

I generally boil a half dozen at a time and have two for brekkie. Some people on here would eat a more than that. Two is definitely all right imo.
