i remember when a cousin of mine got his air max stolen on him one night and had to walk home bearfoot.
i had a pair of those L.A. lights, inpsect the lights in them with my dad, tunred out it, there was mercury in the switch!
eat about all the other brands
im over here in the states and I strolled into a sports shop to find that reebok are stillmkaing reebok the pump 'technology' available in their new models!
please leave a post, we'd all like to hear what u have to say!

    lol!
I remember you'd hear 'hhhiisssssss' as lads in the class all let the air out of their runners at the same time!
Which one's had the 'Disc' system? Was that Asics?

wat was teh disc system? its amazing all this "shoe technology" seems to have disappeared, they seemed to have returned to the basics big time, wonder why?!

Puma had the dics system. You could never play football in them as they kept opening and your shoes would fly off your feet.

Back in my day there was none of that Nike/LA/Reebok Gimicks.
Back in my day the best pair of tackies/runners that anyone could
buy was a pair of "kangaroos"

kangaroos were the bad ass tackies of the day. Made famous by
the fact they had a zip pocket on the shoe/trainer itself.
That was a big WOW at the time regardless of the fact that the pocket
was good for well feck all really.

Later editions of the Kangaroos the pocket was moved from the side
of the shoe to the tongue. After that they seemed to disappear of
    the face of the planet.

I only ever had two pairs growing up I remember I bought them
    in a Clarkes shoe shop.

After they disappeared I got a pair of LA Gear. (no lights) they
were trendy and expensive but were Crap quality.

The most expensive runners I ever got in my entire life was a pair
of grey and purple Nike Air Jordens which split or got damaged after about
two weeks and my parents brought them back to the shop and I ended up
exchanging them for a pair of cheaper Nike Airs. When runners went over
50 pounds back then it was Crazy money.

I have a pair of kangaroos now, orange and blue with the zip at the side. A must for a retro mod. ;) Would have been never able to afford them when I was younger. My brother had a pair of white ones, every pair of runners were white at that time though, so simple.

Asics had the gel, not the disc.

Remeber Adidas Rom runners? I had a pair of those. New Balance used to be more popular in the old days too.

Hahaha! Yes indeed, I too purchased a pair of 'Roos :D The pocket was really confusing wasnt it?? :P I also seem to remember an ad for Cica runners and Pony runners. The Cica ad consisted of people trying to pronounce the name ''The C is an S the I is an E'' and the Pony ad featured an NFL player called Carl Banks who was ''plagued by injury after injury after injury' :D

I still have my Air max somewhere! I had the LA Lights runners at one stage too. They were part of my Christmas outfit in 1992.
