Hey guys I'm new to the whole airsoft thing.

I was just wondering where the best place to buy gas from is because it can be only shipped surface mail?

Also whats the deal with it exactly?, As in, is there an alternative to the small cans you can buy from most airsoft sites?

if you live in dublin, BFSL in ballymount, dublin 12 is very handy to get it from (€16 for a 750ml bottle)

you can also order a propane adapter online for about $30 and buy tanks of propane in b&q (probably other diy stores or hardwares too) for €11 for 1Litre. only downside to propane is it smells a bit funky

(although im halfway through a tank of propane now and it seems like the smell isnt as bad, so either its less strong as you use up the gas, or im just getting used to it)

not too far from you myself

you know o'Briens sandwich bar on the ballymount road? it's on the road behind that, give derek a ring (his mobile number is on the bfsl website i think) and he will tell you where to go, it's a bit tricky to find when you've never been there before. he should have gas in stock

The adaptor is great in the long run and gettin propane is much easier. Get silicone also if you use propane(ENSURE silicone has no petroleum in it!) You see Green gas is propane with vapourised silicone in it an then they rip you off:mad:

You get used to the smell:D

anyone know what the fitting on the larger tanks of propane are?
there's an 11kg tank in b&q here but no pic, i assume it's something like the butane tanks for bbq's etc..

Edit: here it is on flogas.co.uk: http://www.flogas.co.uk/buy-online/cylinders/11kg-patio-gas-propane-cylinder-refill/

I think that is just a refill service.

The pressure in small and large is very similar but messing with 11kg tanks is not a good idea!

yea, but normally you buy a tank and then everytime you run out of gas, return the tank empty and pay the refill price for a new/full one

not exactly something you'd carry along to a skirmish, but if you had a tonne of gas mags, or if a team were to split the cost of one and share it

probably not a good idea anyway tbh, small tanks are much easier :D

I mean using An 11kg to refill small tanks, cause its Euro30.00 for a refill of an 11kg so way cheaper!
