Chorus have changed their programming structure and guide sometime over the weekend so I went thru the TV setup process once on mce and downloaded the guide but it isn't working properly (haven't had a chance to go back and redo/check it). Has anyone else had problems with this?

The guide has not been updated yet it's still old Chorus guide, waiting myself as well on it but not sure though when it will change as they may have to possibly re-licence the guide data from UPC {Chorus\NTL} :(

was messing about with it again last night, and it looks to me like the problem lies with the way chorus have allocated numbers to each channel eg

    instead of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, etc

chorus have assigned channel numbers as follows :

    rte 1 = 101
    rte 2 = 102
and so on for the standard british and irish channels

then they change to 2** or 3** or 4** depending on the category of channel, film, sports etc.

so if you press 2 on your remote, you won't get rte 2, it will default to rte 1 - you have to type in 102 or press the channel up button to get to it.

This happens on both the set-top box remote and as far as i can see on the media centre remote. The guide on media centre seems to be ok altho' I didn't check every channel and didn't have time to go back over it.

Last time I checked the guide channels where still missing but hopefully thats no longer the case.

As for the channel switching you have to run the TV wizard guide again and it asks at one point how many digits are used by the set top box so select 3 and that will resolve the problem.

Personally I just make a favourites list in the STB and cut out the cruft down to 35 channels and leave it at two digit mode.

I have encountered a problem wrt recent upgrade to guide etc. My upgrade occurred in 2 phases - Phase 1: Change to station numbers, Phase 2 (last week): Change to stb menus. Phase 2 upgrade has led to me being unable to view picture when playing tape in VCR. I do hear sound from tape.

There are 3 Chorus stb's in my house, each with vcr attached. Same problem has occurred to all three vcrs. VCRs are all different makes/models.

I have Digital subscription to Chorus.

So far no help received from Chorus. Anyone out there with same experience??

I'm off to Satellite soon if Chorus cannot help!!

Your in the wrong forum MonsieurD this is the correct one to post in for that kind of problem.

This forum is for Home Theatre PC's {HTPC} and recording TV via these type computers. The problem you are having is outside the scope of this forum.

OK, might have a solution/workaround for this. What you need to do is run through the Guide setup again and "Get Latest Guide Listings". I'm in Kildare but I chose Dublin as my location and NTL digital as the service provider. It looks like the new Chorus Digital channel numbers are the same as on the NTL Digital guide i.e. RTE 1 = 101, RTE 2 = 102 etc. I haven't tested this exhaustively but things seem to be setup now as they should.

cheers chris, that worked for all of the chorus channels - so now all I've to do is set up the favourites list.

Mind you, there's a lot of channels on the NTL listings to delete that aren't on Chorus.
