For me it was a house, but I felt it was justified with such dangerous board...

Dealt 23s in the SB and complete.

    Flop came A22.

    Turn A.

    Villain moves all-in.

The only thing was... It was a feckin' bluff!

    ez fold.

Can't remember the betting exactly, but I think most people would have layed it down from how it went post-flop

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 991 ✭✭✭ZZR1100

laid down KQ once on a KK5 board in the macau 1k.

Good laydown, you probably had kicker issues - 3s isnt a great kicker to have in this spot.

I folded the nut straight (also the current nuts) on the flop twice I think

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,364 ✭✭✭Mr. Flibble

I remember a great laydown posted here about 6 months ago, can't remember by who. It was something like folding 55 on a 445 flop in a .50/$1 cash game and the villain showed down 44. Nice!

give the lad a chance there bcb, everyone has to learn sometime.

op as evidenced by your previous thread you have to start thinking about what other players are doing. Without knowing how the betting went it's hard to envisage the hand playing out, but...

If you had an A on a A 2 2 A board would you go all-in or try and get value out of the hand??

can't think of any big laydowns I've made, I normally just go broke a lot :D

I folded kJ suited once pre flop:eek:

BCB, and all others. As I said in a thread last week, newbie bashing (and sarcastic jibes are part of that). This is the second warning to all posters, and a ban might be the result next time.

I remember a really annoying hand I had once in the fitz. I raised in ep with 88. Whole table calls. The flop is JJ8, checked to me I bet, one guy raises, I call, 1 other caller. Turn J. Raiser then pushes all in for loads. I fold. Guy behind me calls with 77. Pusher had A8

I think this thread would have potential if it was: "What was the Best laydown you ever made?"

i much rather have a "best call" over a "best laydown" thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,288 ✭✭✭✭ntlbell

i much prefer best call over best laydown.

I bet you would, make enough idiot calls and eventually you'll have a few stories.

    You station.

    im on button

    utg raise to 12,

    then it get min raise

    i make it 54

    bb makes it 120

    i fold my kk

Best lay down I ever made was quad K's with a Q kicker, I was against quad K's with an A kicker, lol

    Me QQ
    Him A rag

    Board KKQ K K

    I amaze myself sometimes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,894 ✭✭✭✭phantom_lord

Any A or 2 beats me; it was fully justifiable in my opinion. This was also when I was new to poker, as in, first or second game. Although if the same situation arised again, I might fold. Table dynamics made this a fold.

It's cool. I'm more than willing to allow player's to say what they want about me.

Btw, may I suggest a private Boards cash game in the Fitz? I'd like to play against a fair few player's here. Judging from what's been said, there'd be no issues with me playing ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,894 ✭✭✭✭phantom_lord

so these two threads are just for building your table image for this game?

The art of the big hustle set up. watch out. if someone sits down at your table and tells you how he made a great laydown(" i folded a full house i had 32 board was a22a") run for your life.

    I lol'd.

Genuinely though, who'd be interested? Looks like a new thread is on it's way...

I'd play if we made it a home game; save us €70/hr in rake. We can play in my house (Stillorgan) any night over the next 10 days. Any limit from 20c/50c to 1/2 NLH. Proper tables & alcohol allowed!

folded 78 on a board of 88A once in a STT she had the A8 so was delighted with my fold.

For great / huge laydowns though, check out Fuzz in the well when he layed down AKd on a 789d board (I think) and was promptly shown the absolute stone colds straight flush. Nice.
Obviously a great laydown but I'm pretty sure it was Omaha.

Straddled for €7 in the SE once and got about 5 callers, I look down at 10sJs, flop comes 6s3s4s, I lead out, get flat called in one spot. Turn is a blank I lead out again (about 2/3 pot), he min raises. I eventually folded and he showed Qs9s. Figured 7s8s/8s9s were the only conceivable hands I was beating.

No 2 beats you, but it was probably a sensible laydown on the turn. Still don't think that an A bets on that turn though

No, he had KKKKQ the other guy had KKKKA, although I'm fairly sure this is a levelling attempt, but just incase...

QQ preflop... raise into me, i re-raise, another guy re-raises, first raiser pushes, i fold, other guy calls... QQ plays KK and the guy with QQ is drawing pretty slim!

folded JJ to an UTG limp from the TIGHTEST man alive in a cash game once, showed lloyd. UTG limper had KK.

only 2 i can think of now, but i hurt... if i think of any more i'll get back to u, but i doubt it cos im rubbish..

EDIT: DitTAG, you;re an idiot! :p
