My friend has a serious collection of music on his ipod and they're saved in "my music" on his laptop. I tried syncing them straight onto my zen vision m but it didnt work. Whats the best way to do it?

AFAIK the Zen wont play the songs if they are encoded in the Apple format, which is .aac i think? Its the one major drawback of the iPod if you are using the Apple specific file type, the feckin things wont play on anything that isnt an Apple...

If the files are all .mp3s then you should be fine, and seeing as they are all existing in his My Music folder you should be able to sync them easily. What software were you using to sync them? You might have to install your Zen software on your mates machine and then do it...

Id say that might be the case possibly. Have a look at his files and see what type they are. If they are .aac then you can still do it but it will take you forever as you will have to burn them to CDs and then rip them back onto a machine as MP3s and then sync them. By the sound of things he has a lot of files so that could take hours and hours, even days...
