    hey all,
I'm gonna lay app. 10 sq m of concrete paving in my back garden next week. It's just to extend the path around the house to add somewhere solid to park a motorcyle or two. I'm gonna dig down 7" and use 4" solid blocks on their sides (plenty on hand due to side wall blowing over during storms!) and space them out a couple of inches and pour the concrete 3" deep over the top and in between the blocks. Now, would you recommend ready mix or mix myself? I'm leaning to ready mix in bags if I ca get it. Any thoughts (on anything)?

I calculate you want .75 of 1 metre of concrete. Could you organise someone with a VW transporter sized pickup to go to a readymix plant and get it for you. If you are gonna mix it yourself, definitely hire a small electric mixer for the job, very handy, cheap and takes the work out of it.

not exactly a reason not to do it, the mixing would slow it down thats all

Have a look in the yellow pages for the "minimix" concrete people, they specialise in small(ish) quantities, 0.75m3 would be in their remit. But compare prices with a readymix company anyway (they load the prices on small quantities).
