    I like to mix sun holidays with cultural escapes... I'm not one for getting a tan, but I do like to relax but learn about the city I am in and the culture they have.

    I also hate being ripped off.

    Last September I had a fantastic 9 day holiday in Barcelona. Flights 90 return and found a gorgeous apartment online for 500 quid. Well worth it to have our own place.

    I just booked Edinburgh for 4 nights, 5 days. Apartment is 250 (between two) and flights were 150. Thats 200 each, less than 50 quid a day... I'm delighted with it, and I've been told great things about edinburgh!

    Anyone else like to bargain holiday? Got any recommendations for places?

    Yes I love searching the net for good bargains, and have made up some good city breaks in the past. I'm going to Lisbon in a month, and got return flights and 4 nights in a double room with shower (shared bathroom) for 302 euro. I thought that was pretty good!

    That is pretty awesome. IF you have the time you can really make the difference saving a few bob. I always feel safer too, because I've planned it so I know where I am going!
