Channel Keeps Changing

Am using a Phillips TV on my second digibox. Anyways, if I change the channel on the box about ten times, the TV goes from EXT1 to various channels like no 1 or 2. Keeps happening.

Any idea what is wrong ?

No but many years ago when remotes first came out they were ultrasonic rather than infra-red. And parrots can hear some ultrasonic sounds, and guess what happened next ?

    Loose SCART?

Don't think so. Tried the Scart leads and they were firmly in place.

I started changing the channels on the box using the actual buttons on the box. Its fine if I do this and the TV never goes off of EXT1.

But if I change channel about 10 times using the remote the TV changes channel.

Is it possible that the infra red frequency on the remote for the box and Phillips TV's are so close that this may occassionally happen ? I'm guessing if this is true, then a quick solution would be to detune the remote for Phillips TV's.

Doesn't most sky remotes come pre-programmed to work with Philips tv's??
Have you tried changing the channels using the other remote you have on ur other digi-box....maybe the pad is starting to wear and causing problems???

If you press TV then Help on Sky remote, Most TVs will go to EXT in

Steveon: The box and remote is brand new so its hardly wear and tear.

Does this happen during the day or only at night? Saw an article about CFL bulbs affecting TV remotes ....

All the time. Getting fairly annoying.

Check the information sticker on the back of your tv, if your tv uses an A10E chassis then the fault is being caused by a faulty painter chip (ic7064) inside your tv.
