just wondering why you've stringed one of the ibanez's so that the ball-y things are at the machine heads? is it something to do with the guitar being a floyd rose? lovely pictures by the way

Yeah, simplest and quickest way to string a floyd guitar, don't need to be messing around winding the string under itself. Most of the time, i don't even have one full turn on the tuning posts.

How does it hold at the other end, at the bridge though?

Just with the string-clamp, thats how floyds work. You snip the end of the string off, push it into the bridge, and tighten an allen bolt to clamp the string.

A bit blurry (before i found the close up button :D) - but heres a pic off my old J-Custom (The Freeman owns it now), shows how the string is clamped:

ah, cool, I don't remember this from my RG... Oh well, shall sooner or later acquire another Floyd guitar, can see then. I just remember threading it in and it holding at the ball-end.

Tis from '96, Made in Korea. The new ones aren't quite as good I've heard, made in Indonesia or somewhere like that.... The USA tension-free-neck ATK is supposed to be a better Stingray that the one made by ernie ball!
