I have not read any Omaha book, but I believe the one written by Rolf Slotbloom is the best, and I have been meaning to get a hold of it.

As for online resources, Google can help, and I also recommend just playing some playmoney or microstakes games online just to see what type of hands come up, which play well etc.

If you type into Google "Top Omaha Starting Hands", then you will get lots of relevant hits. From there you can take it. Usually Double paired hands, especially high pairs, Aces double suited, especially with other coordinated cards in there, and hands such as 89TJ doubled suited especially are powerful hands.

Avoid hands such as K852, as this is roughly the equivalent of 72o in Holdem. Avoid drawing to the non nuts. The second nut flush is probably the most dangerous thing in Omaha, along with non nut houses. Ovbiously these can be very profitable situations too, but the main mistake I think that Holdem players make when starting Omaha is overvaluing their hands.

I will move this to the main forum in the hope that someone else out there might respond to an Omaha thread, but I doubt there will be too many. There have also been very similiar other threads to this in the past, so if you can do a search for them you might find some of use.

    Good luck.

It's pretty good but certainly not geared for beginners - it doesn't really cover areas like hand selection

I got it on Play for 10£Stg

there is a section in super systems that deals with omaha that is pretty good i have been told.Have not read it myself but dom's advice is probably the best.

play some micro limts and see how you get on.

Go and do some study you tool!!!!

OP I can only agree with whats been psoted already about reading up and stuff but definatley play some micro limits because its the best way to learn and get a feel for hand strenght. Also as important as it is in HE Position in Omaha is everything.
