Going down to Carrick-on-Shannon next week for part-of a day is there anything to see, nice cafes etc that someone could recomend to pass a few hours. Been there once years ago (at night) and didn't see much).

The Dock arts centre is worth a visit, hosts exhibitions and has a nice design shop. The café in the Landmark Hotel is a good spot for coffee and cake. The MoonRiver cruise boat goes on a short trip up the Shannon every afternoon.
