I moved to a place in drumcondra about 3 weeks ago, got a guy from NTL out to connect up my NTL. The signal is kinda crap. Most stations come in alright except for Sky and Nickelodeon, also LivingTV isn't being picked up at all.

Any one got any solutions to this. Would a signal booster help this?
The NTL guy said the signal wasn't very good coming in from the road.

    Signal booster make it worse.

    Get Digital.
Get them to replace drop cable from trunk.

Digital isnt an option. NTL dont have digital in my area. Sky can instal because I dont have a phone line. And cant do anything about the phone line because i'm renting so can't do any altering

Let's get this straight once and for all. If you're paying NTL for a service then you are entitled to receive ALL channels clearly. No excuses about 'poor signal' or 'the weather'. Complain, complain and complain some more - and don't rest until it's completely sorted.

If the NTL guy said the signal "wasn't very good coming in from the road", then it's up to NTL to sort you out - it's not your problem.

Keep us posted on any progress.

You pay 37.50 once off extra to get Sky without a phone line.

I'd guess your area is due for upgrade, so they may not want fix anything meantime.
