Last month a call to guitars went out to bands across the city as the Topman Unsigned Band Search kicked off here on Phantom 105.2.

We invited entrants to send us in one original song along with a short biog, in return for the chance to support three established acts at an exclusive event to mark the launch of Topman's new flagship store at 41 Grafton St next week.

We had a huge response to the competition and after much agonising by our panel of esteemed judges, which included Phantom's own Edel Coffey and Aidan Lynch, along with Tania Adams of Topman and Keith Johnson of IMRO, four finalists were eventually chosen.

So after much suspense and speculation, we can finally reveal the chosen four, one of whom will go on to play alongside The Holloways, Good Shoes and 1990s at the launch event in CHQ next Tuesday. They are in alphabetical order ...

    Dirty Epics
    Fight Like Apes
    Heritage Centre
    Straglers

Congratulations to all of you and thank you to everyone who entered the competition!

Our four finalists will be appearing on Access All Areas with Edel Coffey over the coming days where they will face a public vote, before the overall winner is chosen by our judging panel. So don't forget to tune in weekdays, from 10-12.
