Artists' input wanted

    Dear Artists,

I am currently in the process of developing a business idea for artists in Ireland. As part of this process I am looking for artists to give their feedback so that I can be sure to develop the right product offering.

I would really appreciate it if you could give your feedback on this and let me know what you think?

Basically I am looking at setting up a communal art website at a higher quality than what is currently available (The communal websites I've seen in Ireland, to be frank, don't look the best and are not the easiest to use). It would probably be similar to http://www.artfind.co.nz.

In addition to this, I was thinking of providing a seperate website for each artist with a seperate address, eg. artistname.artfind.ie. As an artist you log into the site, update your works and that will update both the main community site and your own webarea/website. This would provide a low cost way for artists to have their own website. You could use this address on business cards, labels, etc.

I'm not sure what else I could offer artists along with the above. I suppose we could try to organise exhibition space and maybe group exhibitions for the artists as well.

What do you think of the above? What other services could I offer that would make it attractive to you, and other artists. What are the really important issues for artists out there?

If you have any other general comments (positive and negative) on the idea as well that would be great (I think!).

Thanks a million, I appreciate it.

    Regards,

    Cormac.

    Sounds really good,
Irish art needs a well designed forum for artists to present their ideas and work.
