    Full Tilt Poker
    No Limit Holdem Tournament
    Blinds: t20/t40
    5 players

    Stack sizes:
    UTG: t1120
    CO: t1350
    dvdfan: t2940
    SB: t1625
    BB: t1965

Pre-flop: (5 players) dvdfan is Button with tc ts
UTG raises to t100, CO folds, dvdfan calls t100 (pot was t160), 2 folds.

    Flop: 7c 2c 2d (t260, 2 players)
    UTG bets t120, dvdfan???

Again multitabling and no reads but its pretty standard so i dont know how tight hes range is UTG.

This is a hand that sometimes gets me into trouble here. I have an overpair he bets into me do i flat call to keep him in the hand and let him outdraw or do i RR.

If i do RR and hes coming over the top am i folding/calling
If i RR and he calls and we hit an overcard is it then check/call to the river?

this is a really straightforward call, you need a specific read to do anything else

    Call
    You're usually ahead..
Don't raise protecting your stack & not inflating pot, is more important than not giving free cards

Yeah this is the kind of info i was looking for. Im defo not folding here but i didnt know wheter i should be raising to stop the likes of someone with broadway hands making a contination bet me calling and them hitting a disguised top pair on the turn.

    My taughts are:

    Calling:

Pro's: Keeps Pot small and alows me to get some more information on the turn because im in position.
Cons: Allows him to draw to a better hand, i think i read somewhere that in tourneys we need to protect our hand more than in cash games??? And there is a FD on board

    Re-Raising:
Pro's: Stops people making continuation bets and hitting overpairs and/or flushes.
Cons: Im forcing worse hands to fold like A7 33-66 and 88-99, AK-AJ and Flush Draws. Inflating the pot and could be forced to fold to an all in RR.

From this i presume calling and use the information of his bet size or check on the turn to decide my next move and possibly just call it down to keep the wide variety of hands that i beat in the hand and hope he dosent improve to beat my hand.

BTW i RR all in and he typed ? in the textbox taught about it and folded.

Felt the RR all in hand was my worst option here as all the hands i beat are folding except maybe 88-99 or FD and any hand that beats my is calling

Yeah I call too and see what he does on the turn and what falls, if checked to I'll bet, then depending on what falls and how much he bets I'll re-evaluate, but at present I'm happy with our hand it's a pretty delicious flop...

Yeah, I don't see that at all.

RR all-in is not a good move. Like you have realised, the only time you'd get a call here, is if he has you beat.

the last few hh's id read my response to each was fold, guess i got a nit mentality going there.

having rethought about it, no1 can fold here.
