Hi There, can anyone help with the basics of connecting to water and sewage in rural area, just outside Strokestown, Rosscommon. I looked at the county council site and it states license fees of 1,500 euro does this include carrying out the work or is this just for a license to do the connection? Where do I start I've been told it is the Lisheen Group water scheme I should connect to. Any information would be great.

It should be all detailed on your plans and planning permission.

I think that €1500 is a contribution to the council but you still have to
    do the works yourself.

If it a group water scheme, you will need to approach the committee/mob!!

Depending on how well or badly run the scheme is, this can be a straight-forward process or something of an endurance test.

Be proactive and find out who you need to contact and when they meet.

The fee will probably cover most of the costs of connection. If you need to bring the supply across the road, you'll have an additional fee and will need a road-opening license.
