Can someone tell me is it possible to contact dell, in ireland, I am looking for them to send me out recovery discs for a system I am trying to fix for a friend who's kid wrecked the CD's. All I keep getting is blokes in India, passing me from one department to the other for the last hour, this is crazy!

Dell support centres are organised by owner type, them machine type, and perhaps then model (I'm not sure on this one, but the other two I'm fairly sure of from past dealings). There isn't any way around this. You'll just have to stick with the Indian guys, or start again and hope to get another one.

Go on the online chat facility on dell.ie. Although based in India, you won't be hanging on for hours. I've got CD's for two systems this way.

    Forget about recovery disk buddy.

Wipe the drive and format it with own version.

Takes too long to go thru the red tape. Believe me.

Maybe a friend has a CD. What type of computer is it ??

You should have a valid OEM sticker stuck to the machine (with product key). Dell put alot of sh*teware on the machine anyway.
