Change datestamp

We were away in Paris for a few days and took a lot (a hell of a lot) of photos. Unfortunately the batteries had been removed from the camera so for some of the photos the date stamp is 01/01/2002. Picasa doesn't like this - and has the whole folder listed under 2002. Is there a way to change the datestamp on these files?

I think so, what you are looking for is an Exif data editor. I don't know of any though that I would recommend.

There's a program called touch (this is a unix tool, but also available for windows. Pretty sure I have it at home somewhere). You'd set the date on your pc to whatever you want then just touch *.

WinTouch is your friend ... and it's freeware

    http://www.tech-pro.net/files/wintouch.exe

simple to use ... drag and drop the files to change into the WinTouch window, and apply the date you want onto the files ... easy as!

    good luck

That might do the trick. It only changes the last modified date though so it depends on whether picasa uses that or the created date. I'll test it out this evening when I get home.

    Thanks guys.
