Ok the championship is starting again soon so I reckon it's time we got this going again. Competition will be similar to last year and please read the rules to make sure you fill out your predictions properly!

So here is the story:
- Use the template posted in the next post to make your predictions.
- As with last year there will be bonus points for predicting the final score as well as the winner.
- All predictions must be made at the same time. A further round of predictions will be done when we know the quarter finalists, and also when the draw for the qualifiers is made.
- No hedging your bets. If you predict a team to win a province and come through the qualifier system you will not get ANY of the bonus points available for this.
- As unlike the football when the draw for the qualifiers is made all of the fixtures will be decided, so if people wish another round of predictions can be posted. However people will not be allowed to change their initial quarter-finalist predictions based on this draw.

So the points:
- 2 points for predicting the correct winner of a match-up (after a replay if neccesary)
- 1 bonus point for predicting the score to within 2 points (for the first game, i.e. not the replay)
- 1 bonus point for predicting each provincial finalist
- 2 extra bonus points for predicting the correct provincial winner
- 3 bonus points for each correctly named qualifier
From the quarter finals:
- 4 points for predicting the correct winner of a match-up (after a replay if neccesary)
- 2 bonus points for predicting the score to within 2 points (for the first game, i.e. not the replay)
- 2 extra bonus points for correctly predicting the all-ireland winners
- 2 bonus points for correctly predicting the all-ireland finalists
Other stuff:
- People may enter the competition late but obviously will have forfeited points for games already decided
- New entries will only be valid if entered the day before matches start (ie. No entries on May 13th will be counted for that day no matter how early they are done)
- If a post is edited, the date of the edit will be used and any points gained previously will not count

So please use the template posted in the next post to make your predictions.

1: Limerick v Tipperary = Limerick - 20 points

As with last year I'll try and get the table up asap after the matches.

If possible could people please just post their selections until the championship kicks off. After this, comments and slagging is fine. Any comments/questions regarding scoring or rules are welcome.

Hey everybody this is just a reminder about how the qualifiers work in the hurling. In the hurling championship if a team reaches a provincial final (in Munster or Leinster) they do not enter the qualifiers and are automatically into the quarter finals.So for those of you that have picked teams to reach a provincial final and to come through the qualifiers, it is not possible for this to happen and you will not receive points for either selection.

I am waiting for my flight in Chicago so I suppose this gives me something to do. I am feeling generous so I will let Gerire's predictions for today stand, that is unless he finishes ahead of me

Absolutely disgusting,I go from first to 7th over one match that was decided with a late injury time free.I thought Dublin would pull out the win but Derek O Reilly wasn't at full fitness and Kevin O Reilly is missing.We deserved a better break than that.

I thought at half-time that KK mightn't even win their match against Offaly. Instead of that they won by 14 points (which is exactly what I had predicted - just pure dumb luck, I guess

) but the fall off by Offaly in the second half will be worrying them.
