Passport expiry date and lanzarote

Odd question but i know its relevent to some countries. Does anyone know if your passport must have so many months left before expiry (e.g. at least 6 months from expiry date) to gain entry to lanzarote? There will be about a month left on the gf's by the time we are going on hols.

It's part of spain so it only need be valid for the dates of travel.

I doubt the passport office knows too much about entry requirements of other countries. The Spanish Embassy would probably be the people to call about this.

Turns out that as long as travel is within EU, she can use it up to the last day of validity.
