personally i like they way their doing it, though theirs a lot of moaners here, may as well be the EMO board.

Personally i think if their is a question and u wanted it answered right away, watch Questions and Answers on RTE.

"Id like to ask the panel , wtf is Locke up ta? and will tinkers get equal rights?"

I think it's getting better if anything it's still edgy and anything can happen sick of all the moaners knocking it - you just can't please some people.

Sick of seeing a new thread about this every week... so this is now stickied as 'The "Whine About Lost" Thread".

Are you sick of them not answering questions? Is everything just a bit far-fetched? Are the characters just less and less believable?

    Post your thoughts here..

Any new threads complaining about lacks of answers and such shall be deleted!

Wait a minute i love the show don't get me wrong, but there's suspense and then there is suspense.

you lot may like your mind getting lubricated with stories that run at the pace of a three toed sloth, but i like to see things moving

you're right its getting a bit better, but not much... i used to say to myself "just wait! you will start getting some answers have faith."

i pray daily that things will turn out ok bowdown.gif

but sometimes i think whats the point

and bite me magick you sarkey git :p

hey i dont care about it being less than believable and i don't care if its far fetched, being a stargate fan the more far fetched the better imo :D but its soooo slow moving. i feel i could train monkeys to act out the whole thing faster

Thank you TPTB for this thread, if people dislike the show so much why are they still watching it let alone posting about it on a message board.

You can still enjoy a show but be annoyed by aspects of it and I assume this Lost bitterness thread is for us folks. Slavish obedience to Lindeldof isn't any healthier either than cussing everything spat out by his and Abrams' word processors.

Myself, I find the lack of answers frustrating and the character's inability to communicate because they seem like a device by the writers to prolong plot threads rather than arise out of good story telling. The fact that this has been redressed, slightly, in the last couple of episodes is decent and I've reflected it in my opinions of those episodes. It's also why I'm not so full of vitrol on the subject at the moment and haven't dedicated paragraphs to this subject. I'm sure I'll be back to it soon enough...

"Id like to ask the panel , wtf is Locke up ta? and will tinkers get equal rights?"
    Classic.

I love the show but i think this season has been very weak. The Desmond episode was excellent but that was about it. I dont really mind them not answering questions, i like the mysteries. But they are going nowhere. There have been too many episodes where nothing has happened. I dont know about anyone else but personally I dont care about starting old VW vans or about why Jack has certain tattoos. Ideally I would like to see the seasons number of episodes halved. Then we would get all killer, no filler.

    Hi,

How many people are still watching Lost? I think they're making it up as they go along now. Seasons 1&2 were great but it's now like they are just dragging it out. After tonight's episode I don't think I'll bother to watch it anymore. It's a shame because I really liked it at the beginning, now it's just a joke.

    Any thoughts?

Dude.....C'mon....it IS being "dragged out" but hell man, its LOST!!
It was never meant to be a wham bam thank you mam show!!
It's supposed to take ages and build the suspense!!....That said, I've just started a thread to find out where I can get the next episode.....I'm a LOST ho!!!

define making up as they go along, every show is made up as they go along to some extent. they write a pilot, then a series, and so on,
this weeks ep. tied current event in with events in the last two series

i have wathched it from the start, and have to admit it's getting a little
iffy, im still enjoying it though but now with 3 more seasons confirmed
it's only going to get a lot lot worse..

I have seen untill ep 3x19 and
stupid the way the plane was found at the bottom of the ocean .. the full plane with all the bodies ?? how the hell
(when the writers promised they are not dead) are they gonna explain that ??
... and Lockes father .. how the hell did he just appear on the island ??
getting STUPID .. it's the same with the black smoke .. writers don't have a
clue what it is yet .. make it up as it goes along.. and let's not forget the russian eye patch guy (Mikail) who has risen from the dead .. such bull****..

the woman who fell from the helicoptor could be lying, or maybe the dharma initiative or whoever covered it up somehow?

the others brought Locke's father to the island, how else?
    jackdaw wrote:

the writers do know what it is, they just don't want to tell us yet. they will keep the mystery of the black smoke a secret till near the end of the series.

Lost is too clever for its own good. The writers have setup so many questions, the show has tangled itself in knots. Frankly I don't know or even care what the black smoke or why they're are so many bloody hatches all over the island. (Did they ever even explain the polar bear thing?)

The finale for season 2 was a cop out. After a season of suspense it delivered nothing but another bloody question. Fair enough build up the tension and keep the viewers hanging but a little satisfaction every now and again wouldn't go astray.

The best example of the show tying itself in knots is the
two characters who were shot by Michael in season two.
The show had setup a great back story for them but because the actors got done for drink driving in real life the producers had to fire them. The result? A load of unanswered questions such as why was Hurley's girlfriend in the same institution as him

Lost has gotten to the point where I'll watch it if it's on but I won't go out of my way to catch it. I find myself caring less and less about the latest mystery or convoluted puzzle that arises each week.

Whatever the secret of the island is, there has been so much speculation about it when the answer is revealed it will be an anti-climax. The fans' speculation has been more interesting than the actual writing (The purgatory hypothesis was a clever idea and the writers will do well to top it.)

The writers might know where they are going with the show but they are clearly spreading too little butter over too much bread. They are muddling through one puzzle after another in a vain effort to keep the viewer hooked.

It is a lot to ask a viewer to dedicate himself to a show for an entire season, at least the likes of the West Wing, Sopranos or 24 have some plot resolution come the season finale and hit the ground running with some fresh ideas the following year.

Three more seasons of "what the **** is this island about"?

Will people care about the damn place and its ever growing cast of inhabitants for that long?

I think the only think Lost this season is viewers from the show's ratings.

It is not such much whining but I actually enjoyed this show. Certainly season 1 + 2. Season 3 just feels like they are taking the p!ss now.

I am guessing in season 4 in order to get off the island Jack will have to jump over a tank full of genetically modified Dharma sharks, while driving an old motorcycle they found buried in the trees (which crashed in Eastern Timor) while wearing one of Charlies leather jackets mysteriously found in some magic warddrobe at another Dharma station.

If you're talking about that full outline in the other thread, about Time Bubble's etc it's complete rubbish!! And not from LostFan108 - the source of the Season Finale Spoilers. LostFan108 as far as i know got lucky and got hold of the script for the Finale, the other Huge outline is complete FICTION.

The latest episode is currently being broadcast on the television behind me, and I have renounced my faith in Lost. I've just gotten soooooo sick of sitting by every week waiting for answers to questions established in the very first season.
Had they resolved them in the second series and wrapped it up for good I would have been delighted. But I just found out the producers aren't planning on finishing up until 2010.

Which means that you've sat through 87 episodes and there only 39 left.
Now is NOT the time to give up otherwise you'll have wasted a lot of your life(30 seconds into episode 1 would have been the best time to give up).

Lost is ok, its not the best show going. One thing i care about. An answer to everything that is not logically sound. An answer to every single question. No unanswered questions.

I want to know why the statue of the foot only had 4 toes, or did it have 6? i cant remember but things like that, something we only saw once and has never been explained or referenced back to.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 385 ✭✭loon

the statue having four toes isn't a big deal. a lot of statues had four toes, especially ancient egyptian statues of their gods, most of them having animal representation.

the problem with lost is that the writers are fecktards and spent too much time debunking theories until they had nothing to write about.

season 4 is about ben vs widmore... two characters who didn't appear until season three.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 339 ✭✭dbs_sailor

am i the only one who's forgotten 90% of the burning questions that have been left unanswered from previous episodes?

holy crap, i completely forget just about everything that's yet to be revealed... i'm going to have to start writing this show with a goddamned pen and paper.

i really like the show and all but i'm not nearly big enough a lost geek to rewatch the lot from season 1.

i forget why i'm even watching it...

    they're on an island right?

Why cant everyone just be patient?? i mean what do people want, an episode where they just tell you everything? the suspense is great. however there is some drawbacks like the flashforwards and so on, there starting to become confusing, but still i wouldnt pull out of watching it at this late stage.

used to watch it a lot but now, will only watch it if i bump into it. i hope it gets good again for you guys who havent lost patience. and if it turns out well in the end, great, ill buy all of the boxsets and watch them in quick succession so all info is fresh in the head .

to understand the plot or even know whos who, watching on tv doesnt work. same with the sopranos, you get belted by so much info, its virtually impossible to fully enjoy the show by watching it in TV mode. that desmond time-travel episode was terrific but a swallow doesnt make a summer. get better soon Lost!

More a rant at Sky1. Damn them for not showing the new stuff until a week later than they are entitled to.
I don't bother with the cousins, and I'd really got into the habit of watching the new episodes on a Sunday evening with a few nice tinnies.
Mondays on RTE just aren't the same at all.
