Quick survey girls: Which profession do you find most attractive for a man to be in and why? Doctor? Lawer? Fireman? Pilot? Or none of the above?

Which profession would you most like your boyfriend/husband to be in?

    Cheers! :)

you filling out your cao change of mind form? maybe you're going to a fancy dress party, in which case i'd say go with the gorilla suit

    Fireman.

Something that doesn't involve crazy hours so he has time to see me once in a while. What's the point dating a pilot/doctor or whatever if he's never around? Something with enough money so he can afford to go out a bit as I have been in the situation that a guy has expected me to regularly pay everything for him and that's not fun.

You really should go to a firestation. I know around 10 firefighters and cant say any of them would be considered to be in great shape.

    LOL

You should see my dad and all his friends so. Not what would be described as sexy.

Infact I don't think I've ever seen a stereotypical fireman in all the different fire stations I've visited with him.

I have a soft spot for men who are into computers, though my husband is only into them in his spare time. in the end of the day what a man works at does not matter, it is who they are that counts.

If Pighead ever went back to being a chick I'd have to go for Lion Tamer. Fearless, fast and the whole cracking of the whip thing. Tasty

Because he's never around! ... you can spend your time having affairs with nice computer programmers instead *winks to the nerd lover*

    Investment Banker. Or cowboy.

No computer nerds - you know the way if you spend too much time with them, you start laughing at their jokes & eventually making them yourself...:p
Or you start sentences with "Do you remember that time on Star Trek when..."

Scuba dive instructor, sailor(on his own yacht!), an engineer of some type or a scientist of some type(for his brains!):)

I would want him to be a computer programmer as looking at a good bit of coding really gets me going.

An international spy! or a cowboy...
    Anything resourceful and unsissyish...

pilots! god no, glorified bus drivers with inflated egos if you ask me (and I do know a couple)!

edit: preferably the cowboy would own a large and sprawling ranch :)

edit again: come to think of it, Gregory Peck's character in 'The Big Country' would just about be my perfect man.

FIREMAN!!! I'm trying to get my boyfriend to take this up as a career when he moves over in September. He done it part time in France for 5 years. I fancied him so much more when he told me this, pathetic, I know.

Mine would be fairly generalised... most professions where he'd be wearing a suit frequently! My bf in a suit is just yum :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 152 ✭✭frizzefreckles

I was going to say fireman at the very start but after reading thru the other posts I want a cowboy. Spending all day on a horse would mean a nice firm bum and thighs mmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,820 ✭✭✭Femelade

It would HAVE to be, a FARMER for me.....

How about a nice cycling computer programmer???

Might be a bit sweaty from time to time and maybe a bit squashed butt...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,367 ✭✭✭✭watna

I'd have to say I'm also a nerd lover and I'd vote computer programmer as my top profession! Just because they're usually smart and interested in things, and I'm not just saying it cos of what my bf does. However, the top proffession woud have to be computer programmes who work in a really posh office and have to wear suits. I'm never even seen my bf in a suit and they're the hottest things ever!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 890 ✭✭✭patrickolee

watna, has your BF got a key stroke logger on your machine perchance?? Good on ya anyway. I think you're dead right ;-)

A vet (love the outdorsey type..rugged yet caring (has a close affinity to nature so more sympathetic than most blokes)

Failing that, a librarian... love the intellectual look, the glasses shiftily hiding sexy eyes...has ability to have a constructed conversation (and gives me time to daydream about his alter ego in a Clarke Kent type of way) oh sorry for rambilg on.

For the record i'm with an accountant for the last 5 1/2 years so there not bad either!

Happily married to someone who is into computers but before he came along someone who was a professional astronomer could have swept me off my feet. I still swoon at the thought of meeting Patrick Moore some day.

Terrible joke, yes. I've sworn off nerds though. So another vote for cowboy I guess?

carpenters, road workers, farriers, naval commanders, musicians mmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,771 ✭✭✭✭fits

farriers... really? Every one I've met curses like the devil, smokes like a chimney, has a nice pot belly and a bad back...
    Definitely not for me :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8 Powerpuff

Oh, forgot about the cursing. But when you do find one that doesn't enjoy belting and screaming at ponies you'll notice they are very strong indeed... I never saw one with a pot belly.

A rugy player - more precisely a munster and Young Munster rugby player - actually even more precisely Paul O'Connell.

My hubby is a computer programmer. Girls, the fantasy is better than the reality. He's clever, he wears smart clothes to work, he has the glasses and the dishevelled genius look about him but he gets completely absorbed by work and it's boring to listen to. But he is lovely to look at.
My vote would be a University lecturer. Loads of hols, dishevelled genius and snob value.:p

Not a bad choice, though they work very long hours, used to date someone who became an electrical engineering lecturer, he is very cute though but he is married now as am I.
