    Hi

A friend of mine was enquiring as to options for a new business that is setting up in north Galway in a place called Cornamona (See attached map marked in red box) just passed the village of Clonbur, but he is having no luck as such except of the dreaded Satellite...1MB down/512 up...Does anyone have any first hand experience of this?

It currently has no DSL options therefore he is forced to go down the Satellite route. However he is looking at putting in a Internet leased line or ANY other viable option that would be available.

The premises itself is situated approx 100 metres from the edge of Lough Corrib so is it all possible to get a wireless option from across the lake etc?

Are there any local wireless schemes in place?

As a matter of interest is the wimax option ever to going to materialise any time soon?

    Tks

Eircom will be doing Wimax only in urband areas that have DSL where the DSL application fails. To compete with the WISPs I suppose.

At least that's what I heard. I could have picked it up wrong.
