I think I've found a source for propane that's handy for me but I want to make sure it's the right stuff. They have the yellow MAPP tanks which I know are a no no. The blue bernzomatic tanks have cartridge mix on them (picture below) Is this the right stuff?

I know that pain :( had my first Gbb for something like 2 months before i could fire it cos i couldnt find anything other then butane/propane mixes

It's in the same colour/type can, except it's just propane with no butane. Where I get mine (B&Q) they have the mixed stuff as well as butane and propane on its own. Have a look and make sure they don't have it!

I'm confused, are you saying that you need propane with no butane in it or propane with butane in it?

You need a non butane mix apparently. The problem for me is I'm not near any of the 3 B&Q's in dublin. I don't drive so I'd have to take mulitple bus trips just to get it, it'd probably be cheaper buying branded airsoft gas then having to do that.

I'll see if I can find any for sale in the blanchardstown shopping centre for you. I only live around the corner from it. If I can get it for you, then I can buy it and sell it to you at skirmishes (at a 200% markup of course)

War profitering eh Rabbit? :D If you could get it that'd be great.

i may get flamed for saying this, but give the propane/butane mix a try, unless the pressure is significantly higher, it would work fine

(all this is just theory and completely bassed on my own opinion, no scientific fact)

read some were that aslong as the mix is 70% -30% [or something like that] then itl work but it will be weaker then green gas, all the mixes i came across were 70% Butane which wouldnt :(

    Master of the Universe

I've read several sites which have all said the butane/propane mix doesn't work at all.

Actually, anyone know if the propane adapter will fit on a bottle of duster gas? that stuff works too

Fiach if you have a day free you could just make the excursion to one of the B&Q's and buy 2 or 3 cans of gas, that should last you a while. Then when that runs out (2 months?) do it again. They don't go off AFAIK!

I suppose. Don't like the idea of lugging multiple cans of compressed gas around on public transport though. If they explode they'll never find any trace of me :D
