It's still about 200 euro too expensive

Dunno about that, the X box 360 is €440 ish and if you want the HD DVD add on, thats another €199 which brings it to €640 ish or what the PS3 is retailing at normally.

Then again, perhaps they're both overpriced ;)

Yea but most people don't want the HD add on.

Of course, add the fact that anyone who buys a console today will be using it for at least 5 years, and 5 years of xbox live is €250 while its free on PS3, plus the fact the PS3 has cheaper peripherals and much cheaper downloadables and if you're willing to import the full games are cheaper too because they're region free, then the price difference is nowhere near as bad as it seems.

Tempted but there just isn't the games there for it at the moment. If I didn't have a 360 though I'd jump at it.

I was over at the one in Blanchardstown at around 8pm. They normally close at 9, but had closed early today because of a "computer problem". Very suspect.

I've always been suspect of Harvey. They charge excessive prices for everything, sometimes double or even treble the price of other shops (eg: printers 400Euro which are 150Euro everywhere else, and lots of other examples I could give). I believe they get away with it most of the time cos most punters haven't got a clue. If you challange them on a price though, they'll drop to match the competitor.

    Dodgie dealings - buyer beware!
