Tiling round shower-room handbasin

We've put a shower-room in our new extension and have decided to tile just the shower area, floor and around the basin rather than the entire room as we want to use quite expensive largish tiles.

The basin is one which sits on a stand-alone vanity unit against the wall; neither basin nor unit are actually attached to the wall. Above the basin will be a backlit mirror which is the same width as the unit.

My question is: how do we tile this? e.g. floor to ceiling? just below unit to just above? just below to ceiling? and what width? Any pictures of the unit show a completely tiled bathroom so that's no help.

hmmm That realy depends on what you want to do and how may tiles you have and the size of tiles.

You could do a few things.

1 - Tile from floor to ceiling around the basin and vanity and use tile edging.
2 - Tile from the basin to the vanity as a back splash (depending how big the tiles are might not be able to do)
3 - Tile just around the vanity as a feature.
