I started playing resistance fall of man today, I like it, there is a story but it doesnt matter much (at least for now) for the game. Its a FPS style, and you run around and kill things.

The controls however are a bit batty, although they can be useful. looking and moving are seperate, you have two joysticks so one does one and all. This can be good for evasive maneuvers, but I am just not yet used to it so I always end up going the wrong way :P

Every button is used even the sixaxis is used to shake off enemies that get too close to ya, you literally shake them off :)

just thought others might want to know incase they are looking for a similar game.

Almost every fps uses that control scheme,I dont really see the point in mentioning that, and I think everyone knows what resistance is anyway:cool:

I apologize for having a life and not being into games as much as you, however since you have demanded that it be explained, the point was prior to resistance I hadnt seen that control system, as such I felt like describing it here becuase maybe, just maybe, there is one other person out there that hasnt played a fps before that used that interface.

Prior to playing resistance I wasnt really sure what it was, I more or less bought 7 games at random just to see what they were like, that was one of them. As such maybe just maybe there is one other person out there that doesnt know.

But you are probably right everyone does know this already so the post was useless, but then if that were true wouldnt commenting on it be just as bad since if everyone already knows it, they also know that everyone already knows?

Thanks for your critique of my post though, it gives me something to think about for next time.

Yep... it's a pretty standard console FPS control system... The only gimmick being shaking the controller to get the creepy crawlies off you.

It's an incredibly average game though... You can't really call it a poor game... but it certainly isn't a very good game either.

It's definitely a fairly long game though... but I haven't got around to finishing it yet as I got a bit bored.

I prefer rolling the axis stick around to shake bad guys off to be honest...

As someone else said its not a bad game but far from a good game , The first levels are really poor but as you get into it it gets better . I think the graphics are the only thing holding it together without the next gen graphics it would be just another dodgy FPS .

I know i spend more time on Pro evo 6 ( ps2) and the downloads teken 5 and Grand T HD

I'm enjoying Resistance, but haven't played the single player much. The control scheme is almost identical to Timesplitters so I've no problems there. Online is great, gets me very frustrated sometimes though, but it can be insanely fun, I'm lethal with grenades, love lobbing them when I see someone popping up a level on a fan, just throw it where they're going to land and BOOM! :D

The one thing that bugs me with it these days is that the Ranked games seem to be taking place on like 2 maps, my two least favourite too, Somerset and The Mall. Haven't had a ranked game in the Hangar or the Aircraft Carrier in ages and I love those maps. And the Breach mode never seems to pop up in Ranked games, usually just meltdown.

I'm playing Splinter Cell more these days. Tekken 5 almost made me break my controller in a rage last night so I need to take a break from it :P

Couldn't agree more, played it twice, and just haven't been interested in picking it up again yet, and with F1 now so I probably won't play it for a while. Though I might try out the MP, as I haven't given it a go yet.

Looks like trixter has finally come out of his cave. FPS games use use two analogue sticks now? It must be 1998.

Are you sure you have a life, thats an incredible waste of money, doesn't really sound like your really gonna play em all?!

Any I've also just kinda got bored of the one player, but I love online, im never usually that great at first person shooters online, but for some reason I'm pretty good at this so I've played it online more than any other fps I've had!

Then you haven't played Resistance :p

MP is where it really picks up a notch, from being a pretty decent FPS game to a pretty damn good one. I'm not saying it's the best game ever, but very enjoyable. I've said before that it reminds me of Timesplitters multiplayer, can be unbelievably frantic at times.

I'm not mad into FPS titles, but I actually found this game quite enjoyable, and I think it is visually brilliant, not my favourite PS3 title, but definitely was worth the buy, and as a lot of people are saying, it's not a killer app, but is a pretty sweet title for a console to offer at launch.
