Aintree Friday 13th

My luck is bad enough. Betting on Friday 13th is probably a big mistake! :D

2.00 Boychuk is a long time favourite of mine who was beaten by an impressive 10 lengths by Ungaro two races ago. This cannot be ignored. Ungaro will probably take this on that basis, but the fact that Boychuk is 14/1 makes for a good each way bet. Heart ruling head, but I'll more than likely be dutching both of these.

2.35 Can't see past Wichita Lineman. Going to back Knowledge Box each way for obvious reasons.

3.10 Can't see past Well Chief either. Hopefully won't over extended itself after the second fence again!

3.45 I ignored my horse tracker today which gave me Two Miles West, so I'm not going to ignore it when it tells me Le Volfoni is running. Certainly is the pick of the bunch but this is by no means an easy task. An each way bet if the 8/1 is still available.

4.20 De Soto was very disappointing two runs ago on heavy ground (which I think was the beating of it) when finishing 12.5 lengths behind Silverburn. I make Osana 7 lenghts off of Silverburn but the better ground will bring De Soto back into the picture and it should run a big race.

    Best of luck lads.

What about Crozan in the Melling chase? Remember him falling when jumping great and going well in front at Cheltenham?

3.45 Aintree Friday 13th - ON THE NET. Eoghan O'Grady has DJ Casey on board, who is well in form recently, and I've got absolute confidence that its more than capable to finish into a place. Imo,a little luck will be required also, but well worth an e/w gamble,20/1 generally.Opinions anyone?

first three favs tomorrow aces four 5/2 wichita lineman 8/11 and well chief 10/11 -works out at a ten to one treble with paddy power -looks solid enuff to me i dont normally back odds on but looks a tempting treble

going to follow it up with a graham lee place double Brooklyn Breeze and new alco (maybe ew double)

no bet for me in the bumper but i will be watching o hana -won well last week stepped up here

i'd be very tempted to back silverburn ew if there's any 5s tomorrow morning. 9/2 best at the mo, 6.2 on betfair but only 1.7 for a place. Will definately enjoy the step up in trip and hasn't been over campaigned thsi year.

Crozan could run well tomorrow, 3 places in the betfair place mkt too.

Watch out for killaghy castle in the 2:00. Currently 15/2.
Its about time he runs at this distance and i am sure he will be at least placed.

    1st - Killaghy Castle
    2nd - Aces Four

    €1 yankee
    2.00 Aces Four 5-2
    2.35 Wichita Lineman 8-11
    3.10 Well Chief 5-6
    4.55 New Alco 8-1
    Possible return of €330

Gonna have a flutter on Risk Assessor @ 25-1 in the 3.45 aswell
    Fingers crossed

backed silverburn ew with spoilsports at 9/2. Stan James were 1/4 the odds but but have cut it to 4s.

I reckon well chief will win but not sure if 10/11 is a price to back at.

PS ground will be far too quick for new alco.

did u get 3 places on Crozan or 2? Betfair didn't pick it up earlier that there were 3 n/r's so the field was down to 6 and still payed out on 1,2,3

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 121 ✭✭cheeky_guy

I havent got a clue jimmyboy, i just got 10 each way in boyle sports. If he comes in third i guess il go down and see if ive a winner. I got 10 to 1 odds though!!

You won't get paid on 3 places on Betfair. Check terms and conditions. If there are only 6 runners then there are only 2 places. I'm sure of that.

You will get paid on three places on Betfair. The place market terms are determined by the original number of declared runners in the race. However, the odds available factor this in.

With normal bookies, you'll be paid on two places.

Agree on Killaghy Castle. With this being his first try over the trip, I only hope they haven't over-watered the track. There were some very tired finishers yesterday in well-run races.

How do we feel McCoy rode Wichita? The gamble was a good winner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 448 ✭✭jimmyboy

He did go off a liitle too early but the horse tends to hit a few dry spots ina race so he felt u should let him go earlier. Great winner though!

found value in the 3:45 kashtari 40/1 likes the ground ,has course form, trainer in form etc.

Also always to place in first 5 with paddy power 18/1 place only

cant believe i changed my mind, was going to do Risk Accessor in National, but he didnt make it so backed him for last race, also Dunbrody Miller over the national fences beat horses such as Mckelvey when 3rd to Eurotrek and Bewleys berry, picked both this morning but changed mind to Le Volfoni.

shouldnt this be in the near misses corner:P

should be in the tough sh!t corner more like it, nothing worse than some one saying "i was gonna back" a horse that wins.
