Controls seem a bit finicky at times...For example I dread when the "throwing punches" fitness test because often I'm lucky not to go negative!!! So how do you ensure that a right punch ACTUALLY gets thrown...

I'm also having trouble with a hook punch to the head - plenty go to body but head is more effective and adds to the possibility of them staying down. Any special way of doing it?

hmm i just find that hold the wiimotes about chest height and use a quick jabbing motion...like quick 1-2's ..works for me

I've had this problem too - I can't throw a hook at all, well not on purpose anyway. But for the training with the pads, when he holds the pads near his face (eg he holds up the left pad but your left punch goes wide) experiment with tilting the controlers so you move off-center and punch with the opposite hand. Works for me.

Quick one-two's are one of the most effective things in the game. The faster you can extend your arm to a stop and retract it can determine the punch.

For differentiating between high, medium and low i find the best way is to exaggerated your movements (eg. for high, punch really high and for low punch really low). Apparently trigonometry has a role too when standing certain distances from the television.

As for hooks and uppercuts... i don't know.

I have to say in wii boxing its all in the wrist-action not ver scientific but as i extend my arm just at the last second i flick my wrist in the direction i want to throw and as was said before me you have to really exaggerate your movements to be accurate in the boxing game.
