"My name is Henry Gale". Sound familiar :D
Doesn't nessicerily mean he's lying though.
Funny thing about that is everything he said about Henry Gale was true, he just lied about BEING Henry Gale :D

Just a little white lie. :D

True mate, but you are forgetting one major thing. Ben does not Lie. He was very very upset when Juliet doubted him. He does not have to lie to get people to do things for him.
    Of course he lies !
Didnt he try to pass himself off as Henry Gale and he told a web of lies.

Nah, Henry Gale didn't go there with his wife, he didn't live anywhere on the island, he didn't bury his wife there, he didn't do any of the things he said, except that he flew in a balloon.

You think the real Ben had a wife and she died while giving birth?

What i mean is, the reason Ben cares so much for finding the cause of the problem and how to fix it, is possibly because at one time he was married on the Island and his wife died giving birth. He lost Wife and Child. The reason i say this is because he will do anything, even if it means killing people to achieve the solution.

How can Ben explain that "his" daughter was born on the island?

    Alex is not his daughter.

i wonder if "Ben" is like Tyler Durden and Jacob is Edward Norton.
So Ben was born on the Island, but none of the others know who Jacob is.

Also i wonder if Rosseaus team could have gotten the same implants as Claire, This could have let to them getting sick.

Actually I was wondering about that, because when Sayid started hinting to Alex about her mother, the guy guarding him told him to shut up or whatever, seemed like he knew something....

just before Juliet drank the orange juice with the sedative you could see the name HERARAT Aviation ( Her - a - rat ???) on the wall in the background and she commented on the fact that she was surprised there was an airport out there. Howcome then, she was transported by sub?

Did anybody read anything into the knot-tieing at the end? Did she "double-cross" it?

And is Goodwin a doctor too? Because if Ben chose to send, not one, but two precious doctors off into the dangerous situation of spying on the crash survivors, rather than two grunts, he may not be the mastermind I thought he was.

Depends, it wasn't that dangerous: Ethan wouldn't have been caught out if it wasn't for Hurley and his list. (And my brain temporarily fails to remember how Ana Lucia caught Goodwin out)

And if they were sent to check out the survivors for any pregnant women (a long shot), a doctor would be the ideal person to send, to monitor them and treat them if injured.

Plus we don't know how many medical staff the others actually have. If it's all some kind of medical research thing, risking two of them mightn't be that much a deal.

Thats it, she didn't know there was an airfield out there because there wasn't... it was to trick people into thinkin they were going on a plane, taking the sedative for the "bumpy ride" (I ain't gettin on no plane fool! :D) when it was to sedate them to get them on the sub!

    Thats what I think anyway...

If they wanted to keep the sub a complete secret, then why allow her to wake up on the sub. Why not take her off the sub and to the camp before allowing her to wake. It really would not matter if you were going somewhere on a sub or plane. Ok a sub being a little strange but they could cook up a story as to why a sub.

Not sure if this has already been pointed out, but I was just rewatching it, and in the flashback when Juliet drinks the orange juice, the hot guy with the nice eyes says "You'll be amazed by how fast time goes when you're there". Perhaps a reference to time differences between the Island and the real world?

Ben doesn't lie? Isn't he the same man who claimed to be a dead black man from Minnesota when we first met him?

I don't think that there is a time difference, I know this is a common theory,
but remember the video link between the island and america. The one ben showed juilette. It had her sister in it with a young kid, and juilette was there 3 years, a time difference would make sense so,
also if there was a different rate of time a video link would work, as one end would be faster etc

Alex wasn't conceived on the island, I think I've pointed that out three times already in this thread. Have you people seen One of Us?

True, I thought of that after posting.

Another thing has just occured to me: They have a book club with several members. Each member is required to read a new book every week, or whatever. This means that they must all have access to a place where they can buy books. If they all had read Carrie and happened to have spare copies lying around, there wouldn't be much point in a book club, would there? Where are they getting the books from? If they can travel back and forth to the mainland, surely the food in their fridge would be branded, and not all Dharma.

Another thing i have been thinking about. Dharma and the whole supply drop thing. Ok Dharma were researching on the Island and when they needed supplies they would request them. Now lets say all of the remaining members of Dharma are dead. The others had access to The Flame which was the station the supplies were requested from.

You not think it strange that whoever was in charge of sending the supplies would not be wondering why they have not received a request for new supplies in a long time, since the hatch explosion? I mean surely they would have tried to contact the Dharma researchers at some point. Not being able to reach anyone would cause suspicion and they would send a rescue team to check on the researchers.

Why has that not happened yet?

The hatch only exploded 16 or so days ago, in Lost time.

In a recent podcast the writers confirmed that Ben's scepticism about the Swan's button-pushing was genuine. So I think we can assume he knew about the Swan but not of it's importance. He believed what the Pearl's video told him, that it was a psychological experiment, a joke. Therefore the hatch was of no value to him so he didn't care about Desmond and decided to leave him there.

As for Ben telling Locke he didn't push the button, well we don't know exactly what happened there but my theory is Ben (who was still claiming to be Henry Gale) needed to use the hatch computer to contact his people and HAD to enter the numbers first. This makes sense as his people sent Michael back to rescue him the very next day. So what Ben told Locke was a mixture of truth and lies. He DID push the button but he honestly didn't think anything would happen if he didn't.
I like the second paragraph buy have you got a link to the first paragraph podcast you speak of? I'm sure ben knew everything about the button in the hatch.
