the synopsis seems very good, let's just hope it's not one of those magic ones that tv.com seem to pull out of their asses every now and again.

example: "in this weeks episode of lost, jack preforms liposuction surgery on hurley whilst travelling to the moon on a newly discovered rocket ship in a newly discovered hatch".

Well the synopsis was bang on.

The last few minutes were pretty good but I dunno what to make of it. Probably should of seen it coming. The minute I read the title, "One of Us", it reminded me of what Ben had said before. Something along the lines of "No matter what she says, no matter what she does, she's still one of us". So I thought she might turn alright.

I was sure she was gonna side with the losties up til that last scene though. She seemed to be getting the royal screw job from all sides (especially from Goodwin ;)) which would make you think she'd resent Ben and the Island but shes sticking with him now? She must think theres another way off the island? Theres definitely more too her than I expected anyway...

I enjoyed the first season music being used in this episode as well. It really felt like a first season episode i.e. good.

The Others are becoming all too human/normal for my liking.

It's a pity "next week" in Lost is gonna be the season finale episode, rather than y'know... next week.

    Fairly good I thought.

Bit disappointed by the ending, I wanted Juliet to side with the survivors. However, I kinda saw it coming. After last week I thought it was like they were back to square one. Hatch gone, others gone, it seemed like the start of season one again, so I figured they'd need to keep the others in it to keep the plot going, and since Juliet was the only one left, I figured she might have been an infiltrator. Here's hoping she screws Ben over in the end anyway.

    Excellent episode.

I don't think Juliet is bad and whatever her intentions are for infiltrating the lostie camp they're probably good. Either that or she's pissed at the losties for killing Goodwin.

I loved the way they filled in the details around the opening scene of the season, why Juliet was crying, etc. Jack's instincts about Juliet are still essentially correct however, she wants to go home. The question is, is there any other way off the island that Ben has to offer her? Either way she has her own agenda. But is she any different from the losties in this regard?

I loved how she handled Sayid and Sawyer. She's right of course. Neither of them are in a position to be dealing out judgement on her or any of her people. They're all deeply flawed.

Sayid should be leader, he's always right. They should kill Jack.

    Next weeks episode looks crazy

Juliet has been asked to do this by Ben. He wants kate to see smokey. I think ultimately they want to help the losties through smokeys judgement but can only do that by getting the losties to help themselves.

ahhh finally some of my lost predictions are happening...
    stevejazzx wrote:
nah juliet will freak him out by telling him that she knows about his other woman victim and before sayid can say 'holy allah' jack will appear and start going
oi! sayid no! that's my new girlfreind...leave 'er alone...

just not in the right order but all there anyway
    stevejazzx wrote:
Nope, you may be right but I'm thinking the perfect way to get inside the losties is to make them think that Juliuet is marked, outside, and then she can build relationships with the losties without the stigma that she's an other. I think she was ordered to Kill that other Guy(can't remember his name) and that her ordeal is to do with a much greater plan orchestrated by Ben. The hint to this is last week, her and Ben in the Hatch when describes how he's going to get Shepard to do the surgery by manipulating him.

    woohoo three predictions right!

I thought this was one of the best episodes this season. Juliets sister is a wonderful actress. Surprisinly the more the story is explained the more sense it makes and the more everything fits together, Ethans story was finished surprisinly well although if you think about it Juliet claimed that it was Ethans idea alone to kidnapo claire which shouldn't make sense to any of the losties especially Claire. It was ingenius the way they tied the stroy back to the season 3 opener where we see Juliet crying and struggling to listen to the music downtown.
This sets everything up for a great season finale, now Ben did this last season (infiltrated the losties) but was found out. How long before they find out about Juliet?

Brilliant episode. Absolutely brillliant. Best flashback in ages. I believed Juliette was actually telling the truth, but what a great twist at the end. Sweet jesus I wanna know what happens "next week" now...

Great twist at the end, should really have seen it coming though:) I still think there is a hell of a lot more to juliet than we have seen. Its possibly she is conning Ben, surely she knows him well enough to know that he will do everything in his power to stop her from getting off the island (if that is what he promised her) She seems to have her own agenda and was probably telling the truth when she said to Jack that she was on her own now.
It will be interesting to see why the others wanted to infiltrate the losties camp, I can see it being something to do with Sun

Also how was ben born on the island and russos(spelling!) kid born on the island if no one can have children on hte island.

Why dont the losties move in the Others camp - especially with the fence surrounding it

Top class episode. Seamless integrated the storyline into Claire's past with Ethan, and the tie-up to the season opener, as already mentioned.

I did not see the end coming! I thought Juliet was with Jack now, so I am intrigued as to WTF is going on, and what the season ending will be about. Kudos to Elizabeth Mitchell for how she plays the part, from cold bitch to good person (e.g. with Hurley) with ease. I hope the Emmys reward her, and Michael Emerson for their performances next time round.

The Goodwin subplot must have significance; otherwise why show it? Perhaps Juliet is pissed with the Losties for killing him, but it was Ana Lucia who did it, and surely she would know from Cindy that Ana was the killer. I'm a little less sure that Charlie will survive now, given that Juliet and Ethan were friends too.

The flashback did leave a lot of questions though. Why did she drink the OJ? Where did she develop her marshal arts skills? But it was great to find out that Mikhail was the person who got the details on the Losties, and that they had a link to Richard Alpert all along; surely Mittlelos know where they are and would be a little concerned about the lack of contact for some weeks now?

Am interested too in how the Sun storyline will pan out.

I gave it a 9. It answered a lot of questions about the Others, but still more to learn about Juliet I think.

I dunno. But I reckon if they did, they'd get a nasty surprise. I reckon the others only created an illusion to Kate and whoever that they were leaving, and were in fact only hiding until Juliette had gone with Jack and that shower. I'd say they're back in the barracks now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,276 ✭✭✭damnyanks

Plus its not even worth considering. As you've noticed people in lost dont talk, so only 4 people know about the camp.

Living on the beach is nicer anyhows, they can have nice bbq's

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,119 ✭✭✭Volvagia

well if no women can have children on the Island, I guess it answers why the others are so big into kidnapping children.

Good episode overall, as was said before i wish next week lost time was next week our time...

Very good episode imo really like the whole evil sexy Juliet baddie angle :D I deffo think that Sun is in potential danger... maybe not straight away.

They may well have moved back into the barracks all they have to do is turn on the fence and they are laughing. I'd love to know many of them there are... there seems limitless "Others" to kill off.

I also wonder when we'll see Rouseau again, perhaps she will track the "Others" and tell Said where they have gone to or not if thats the case. There is also lots of airtime of a Mother Daughter reunion to come I think. I wonder will they make a Rouseau episode with flashbacks:confused: that could be interesting.

We are sure to see Loche and Daddy Loche have a heart 2 heart soon I'd imagine. They must have lots to talk about...

I wonder will we see Moaney Mike again... since they are seemingly tieing up lots of loose ends. I do hope now tho.

Oh, that was a good episode. That had me acting like I did in season 1, and the better parts of season 2, watching it going "ooohhhhh!". LOVED the final scene, did NOT see that coming!

    I gave it a well deserved 9.

Juliet reckons it's something to do with conception that causes the mothers to die. Rousseau's child definitely wasn't conceived on the island, and there's no concrete evidence to suggest that Ben had to have been conceived there either.

I gave this a 9, best episode of the 3rd season, along with The Man From Tallahassee. The trailer for next week's episode looks good... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycGZg-HpmAg

Also, the voiceover says there's 5 more episodes til finale time, that means 21 regular season episodes + finale, were previous seasons not 24 episodes, and does that mean we may have our first triple-length finale?

Juliet definitely has her own agenda, I think she has genuine feelings for Jack, and let's not forget her video message she delivered to Jack about killing Ben in surgery. Sayid's going to suss something soon enough about her infiltration plot. Maybe she's there because Sun needs whatever was done to Claire in S1 to be done to her at this stage in her pregnancy? Although Sun's only 5 or 6 weeks pregnant at the most while Claire gave birth shortly after they arrived on the island.
I hope the producers keep the show on a roll now, no more filler episodes from here until the finale.

We only have Juliet's word that women can't conceive on the island. It has not been fully explained what her work involved.
I can almost imagine Juliet going out in a blaze of glory but giving the Losties valuable info. in her dying breath.
    Good episode.

Just thought I'd mention it in case there are any uber lost geeks here but there seemed to be a repeating sound during Juliet's confrontation with Ben over her sister, accusing him of lying etc. Could me morse code or possibly a bird trying to communicate with them. Seriously listen carefully. Even seemed to purposely stop if there was silence in the dialog.

AFAIK they can conceive, they just die at child-birth as we saw in this episode when Juliette was operating on a woman and Ben said that she knew the risks she was taking.

Well i gave it a 9. My god it was a class ep i thought.

As people have already said, Ben mentioned he was born on the Island "not many can say that" he said. This would indicate that either he was conceived off the island in the real world, or something has happened since he was born that no longer allows woman to get pregnant.

Now Rousseau was pregnant before she got to the island, thats how she was able to give birth and not die in the process.

The others are stealing woman, so they can continue their research into the reasons behind, why the woman can no longer get pregnant without dying. Ben is such a clever character and his plan with Juliet is brilliant.

As far as i remember, Sun is pregnant and Jin had nothing to do with it, so did the others make her pregnant or was it the Island.

I know they likely thing is now, to believe that Juliet is evil etc, but Ben said to her that she cannot leave the Island until her work is done. The only reason she comes across as evil, is because she thinks the only way for her to ever get off the Island is to impress Ben. This leads me to think that she will actually come good, and will kinda fall in love with the losties way of life and helping them to get off the Island. She may begin to work against the Others because she has been forced to stay there against her own will.

So they inserted an implant into Claire? They knew Claire would not die on the Island because her baby was conceived off the Island so why bother to implant her with a device, unless it was their plan all along to use her.

Starting to think now also, Ben told John, that there was something very special about him and that the others would help him find out what it was. Ben may be hoping that John may be the solution the fertility problem on the island.

Also the Jacob character was mentioned again, as an all powerful being that had the ability to cure Juliet's sisters cancer once and for all. That is very interesting, asking the question, what or who is Jacob.

    A really super ep.

Stupendous episode. Lost really has me knocked for six recently!

What i loved about the episode was the integration with Claire's kidnapping.. even stuff like remember all the way back in season 1 when she woke up screaming thinking someone grabbed her and injected her with something, everyone (including us) ignored it and called her a crazy wallabe (just me?). Now we know it was actually happening.

It's these episodes that redefine my faith in the 'Lost' creators and writers - just when you start thinking "they might actually be making up" - you get an episode like this which integrates (pretty much) seamlessly into the early stages of the first season. It was a long wait but the reveal was worth it!

Ending was pretty good.. but i knew Juliet was an Other. I found her all a bit unconvincing in trying to portray any type of innocence / naivity regarding what was happening on the Island.

Has to get a 9 from me as we finally get some good goddamn answers.. along with a damn fine flashback and interesting reveals, not to mention a fantastic final scene.

Having rewatched it (it's one of those that needs that!), Juliet and her sis were listening to Downtown on the radio in the car before she met Ethan and Richard at the Mittlelos HQ.

The whole "who's the daddy?" storyline with Sun will get answered too presumably; if she conceived off the island then there is more chance that the hotel manager was involved, especially if Jin was on a sex ban before they left Australia!

Yeah looking back now, the final scene has to be the standout scene from Season Three so far, Emerson and Mitchell are two of the finest actors in a serial, ever! And it had a nice little "Gangsta's Paradise" feel to it too, I was expecting Coolio to jump out of the box any minute!
