Where to keep offline bankroll

I have money that I want to use as a bankroll for cash games/tournaments.

However any money I've earned in poker offline recently Ive put into my current a/c and before long its gone.

Im thinking of opening a seperate bank a/c for poker. Is this what most people do here?? Obviously I dont want to leave large amounts of cash under my mattress so just wondering to hear how people manage their brs.

I keept track of in in a note book.
Write down money spent, money earned, what game it was, position, notes on my play, and ROI at the end of every page.
To play in games i take money from my account, if I win I use that cash as spending money over the next few weeks.
Its not optimal, but I am only playing low buy-in, student type games
I quit working for my thesis, so im playing less and less.
This method probably wont work for large BRs,

I keep it under the mattress, It won't be moved untill it causes me to burn the hairs of my arse.

I have a place I keep it, and unless it goes above 3k (not something I have been troubled with lately) I just access it as needed. If it does go above then I shove it into my bank account.

I have a current account, a savings account and a credit card. If I'm playing a cash game I'll take money out of my current account, I'll keep a track of ups/downs, if it's a big up, it goes into the savings account, if it's not too big it goes onto my credit card.

I have a separate ac for it. I like to have it separate from other money for psychological reasons. You can pick up a safe for 40 euro in Argos which you can attach to a wall/cupboard which can be handy for keeping a few K safer at home.

I find that if I have copius amts of cash around my house, the fact that its there makes me want to spend it on non poker related stuff.

My BR management is terrible.

when I played in the fitz I just kept the whole roll in fifties sitting on the shelf. and later i got some monkey chips.


you could open an account in the fitz and keep it there. that's what I was gonna do before I went busto.

Before I got married I used to put cash in a clear waterproof bag - sellotape it tight and plonk in the cistern. Then I dated an alcoholic. Once when I went looking for my loot all I found was an empty naggin of Vodka :eek:

Normally i just store in in d safe at home....Then i forgot the combo to the safe and well thats a different story

One place not to put it is the sock drawer i was pulling out a pair of socks and out falls my BR all over the floor with my wife looking at me mysteriously....oops:( some quick excuses where made but she called my bluff

I think a savings account would be the best option.

Thats what im going to do once i get back into playing. Ive only been playing micro online and cashing all the profit out instantly cause im broke and i have to wait a month before i get paid in my new job.

Gona set aside a few bucks in my next pay check and hopefully run well for a while when i start playing 1/2 in the Adelaide in sligo so i can get a bit of a BR going.

Oh ya i just remembered i should have a nice chunk of Tax return from australia comming soon so that will be a boost.
