On April 19th we have an extra special Kettle event taking place in conjunction with the Rock The Vote campaign. The campaign's sole purpose is to increase voter turnout and in particular that of young voters. Ireland has had the lowest average turnout rate for general elections in Europe for the last thirty years. Kettle and the likes of, comedians Dara O’Briain, Des Bishop and dozens of other supporters have joined the brigade to make a positive impact on the upcoming election.
Our line up for this month sees some old and new faces grace our stage. Kettle regulars, Fonetik and Hugo Johnson will be serving up their always impressive and ever evolving selection of hip hop, electro and techno. A newcomer to Kettle and making waves all across Dublin is Halfdutch. Well known for her regular radio show on Raidio Na Life 106.4FM on Saturday nights. Expect a mixed bag of music: Luke Vibert, Talking Heads, Kraftwerk, Dj Krush and Bugge Wesseltoft, the list and the mix of genres goes on!
The legendary Scope will be teaming up with MC Little Tree to provide a unique sound of reggae, dub, funk and hip hop. Scope has supported Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx, The Congos and Massive Attack. His collaborations with MC Little Tree have been on and off for 5 years. They will be laying down a smooth mix bound to put a smile on the faces of all Kettle fans. Visual master, Rocksteady Kevie will be providing the eye candy.
