cargo pants. i've a pair with 9 pockets which are a godsend when out taking photos - one pocket for a lightmeter, one for film, one for lenscaps, one for the darkslide, one for exposed film and empty film canisters and boxes, and then there's the usual wallet/phone stuff.

spares me fiddling around with zipping/unzipping camera bags, etc.

On Sunday, I spent about an hour and a half standing in the sea in Tramore wearing angling waterproofs. They don't look totally trendy but believe me, it beats getting your jeans soaked.

Looking for anything in the dark. Seeing what you're shooting in the dark as well as focusing. Making sure the settings are right. Light painting.

i once had to walk up a beach covered in rocks varing in size from tennis balls to basketballs, carrying a tripod, hasselblad, and 35mm camera with two lenses. took me five minutes to cover 100 feet.

Nice thread, I've picked up some ideas for things here I haven't thought of before like fingerless gloves. But for me it's gotta be my car, essential to landscape photography in Ireland.
